My name is Brian Crump. I'm 45 years of age and I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. I moved to Union County in 1995. My wife, Suzanne and I have been married for 15 years, we have 2 children and we live in Waxhaw, NC. In my early years, I graduated from Independence High School. After graduating high school, I went to work for Sheriff Kidd in Mecklenburg County, NC. I started off as a dispatcher and worked my way up to the civil and fugitive units within the departments. In conjunction with working at the sheriff’s office, I worked part-time for the Badin Police Department where after a short period of time, I rose to the part-time supervisor over our part-time personnel and reserve officers as well as the lead investigator.

In October 1998, my mother was tragically killed in a traffic accident on New Town Rd. at which time, I was living with her. Due to the lack of salary working both departments, I was forced to choose a different avenue of law enforcement and into the private sector of private investigations. Since 2000, I have run a successful business called Crump Investigations. I have served many Union County residents with civil and criminal cases. Now, serving both sides of the blue line as a law enforcement officer and a criminal defense expert, I completely understand our judicial system from both sides. This will enhance my ability to successfully help arrest and prosecute criminals while protecting the citizens of Union County. In addition, I am a certified as general instructor and a Firearms Instructor through the NC Justice Academy. I currently teach un-armed and armed classes at Elite Training Academy in Monroe to security guards.

I am looking forward to being the next Sheriff of Union County and I look forward to meeting each of our great citizens throughout the next 2 years.

It's time to give the sheriff's office back to the community.
