EXPERIENCE
Integrity, Experience and Commitment
I'm not a career politician nor have I only held one position in the judicial system. I can bring a great deal of experience to the Sheriff's Office without needing my deputies to train me how to be the Sheriff. Yes, I will always learn from the deputies and all of the staff of the office, but I will also have the ability to assist them with my own solid law enforcement experience in order to better serve the community.

Recently, a Union County resident asked what my qualifications were to to be his Sheriff ... So, I thought I would share this with everyone - First, thanks so much for your question and being engaged with our "State of the County."
I have been in the Law Enforcement profession since 1993. I started my career in Mecklenburg County under Sheriff Kidd a a part-time dispatcher. After graduating from the police academy in 1994, I started working in the Civil and Fugitive apprehension unit. In conjunction with the Sheriff's office, I worked part-time as a patrol officer in Stanly County. After only a short time there, I was the supervisor over all part-time personnel and an investigator under the late Chief Stephen Drye.
A well rounded Sheriff isn't one who has only spent a career in a patrol car or one specific office, whether elected or appointed, but someone who has my experience and dedication
I have been the lead defense investigator in some of the Charlotte area most notable cases including those of Rae Carruth, George Shin, Loomis Fargo, and MS-13 just to name a few.
In 2000, I started my own business, Crump Investigations. I have been a lead investigator on everything from DWI to the MS-13 gang, federal drug conspiracies and RICO cases. I have averaged several capital and non-capital murder cases every year. In addition, I've worked personal and property crimes from rape and robbery to accidental deaths.
My experience is simply unparalleled to others.
I look forward to answering any questions you may have for me or my vision of the future for Union County.
